Walkers Run features open plan living, wooden floors, exposed timbers, even some exposed plumbing, spectacular views of bush-covered ranges and beautiful sunrises, and only one and a half hours senic drive from Sydney, and even less from the Central Coast.
Totally private, surrounded by native trees and bush, Kenny the Koala visits in the mating season, Big Grey Kangaroo's and the occasional Wallaby graze regularly on the lawn, King Parrots, Rosella's, Lyre birds, Goanna's and other native species.
There are 2 large decks providing outdoor dining, loungers, hanging chairs, and sunken and raised open-pit fire-places, gas 4 burner bbq, spit-roast, outdoor speakers and mood lighting.
Walkers Run grew from a classic cabin dwelling deep in the bush, to a larger “version". The original existing cabin is a cosy, rich red carpeted lounge-room with a hand-made potbelly log-burner; reverse cycle air conditioning unit, sofa bed and an extension dining table.
Off this room is the smaller of the 2 decks, accessed through French doors to the bbq and outdoor dining table and chairs.
A second bedroom is also accessed off the cabin. It has a comfy Queen Size bed and unusually delightful décor.
The Third bedroom has a double bed and compact study.
The bathroom is a mix of “Pink" hand-basin, loo and original claw bath with a rain-shower overhead, baby corrugated iron….and ducks! Towels are provided.
The Huge Master-bedroom features a King-size bed handmade out of early settlers Post n Rail fencing and is “linked" with the main lounge room hence sharing the awesome views, music, movies etc, but, can be screened off when preferred.
This main lounge consists massive 7m wide Bi-Fold glass doors onto the large main deck, floor to ceiling glass, timber venetian blinds, exposed timbers, slow combustion log burner, 50" Plasma TV, Blu-ray, Foxtel, iPod dock with Bluetooth, Home Theatre, huge selection of dvd's, air-con and ample mood lighting.
The kitchen is included in the open plan layout, with a Stainless Steel 5 burner gas Stove with oversize electric Convection Oven, Teppanyaki, Dishwasher, Microwave, Food Processor, Blender, Juicer, Cake Mixer, Nespresso with pods, Coffee Grinder, Coffee Plunger with beans.
Guests have their own Fridge/Freezer (with ice at the ready).
Unlimited amount of parking on the property.
Mobile phone reception is “patchy" unless your service provider is Optus.
Wireless internet is available but not unlimited.
There are 2 general stores and great vege shop 20 kms BEFORE reaching Bucketty, both stores sell petrol.
Private Road One is 1.25 kms of dirt road so we ask you take care, not exceeding 15 kms per hour, with respect to the road, and especially to your vehicle.
Another wow factor of WR. The bed itself is handmade by Rob Walker, from early settlers post & rail, retrieved from the property. Then combined with a luxuriously comfy mattress and base and quality bedding direct from the USA. The expansive views from this bed are indescribably beautiful, and for the occasional “sleep in” a theater style curtain can be drawn.
The unusually delightful décor, laced with several tree branches, moons and stars on the ceiling, with a super comfortable queen sized bed, make this room another memorable, hugely cosy place to sleep and dream the night away.
This character-filled room has the addition of a small compact study, stacked with board-games, memorabilia and views across the valley to the awesome Watagan Mountains.
